Youth Baseball of New Rochelle (YBNR) provides children in New Rochelle with quality Baseball and Softball programs. We're proud to have done so for 42 years! YBNR now offers baseball and softball programs year-round, including our Spring and Fall Rec seasons and Summer, Spring & Fall Travel!
Q: Why did YBNR and NRLL create a sports partnership for this upcoming season?
A: This partnership will allow all recreational baseball and softball players the opportunity to play in Little League Baseball and Softball, the world's preeminent youth sports organization. By partnership this Spring we will have more fields, more games and more training for every kid in New Rochelle regardless of the area they live.
Q: Do I need to register on both YBNR and NRLL websites?
A: No, please register on YBNR.org. This will take you to the new portal for online registration (Sports Connect). You can also click here to register.
Q: Do I need to create a new login if I have previously played for YBNR?
A: Yes, you will likely need to create a new login on the SportsConnect platform. When registering, you will be prompted to create an account before being able to register.
Q: What is the evaluation process?
A: Every child ages 8 and older will be signing up for an evaluation which will take place the weekend of March 22nd. These evaluations will focus on key skills including hitting, fielding, throwing and pitching. Our goal is to better balance the teams and ensure a fair and enjoyable experience for all players.
Q: Can I request to play with a friend?
A: Our teams are drafted based on coach evaluations, so it is unlikely we will be able to honor teammate requests for any children age 9 and above.
Q: What are the typical days each division plays?
A: Spring Ball is generally played once during the week and once on Sunday.
Fall Ball is generally played only on weekends with one game Saturday and one game Sunday.
These are general guidelines and are subject to change. If this is an urgent issue, please contact your division commissioner for more specific details.
Q: I’ve registered, but have not heard anything yet!
A: You probably will not hear from us until the late March for Spring ball and the beginning of September for Fall ball. Everyone will be placed on a team, provided you are registered and paid.
Q: When will the season begin?
A: Early to mid April for Spring ball & Early September for Fall ball.
Q: What are the costs?
A: The cost for all programs are $200 and there is a $50 non-volunteer fee. Scholarships are available for those families in need.
